Our History
Over 90 years of patient transport across Australia
The Royal Flying Doctor Service has been transporting patients across Australia for over 90 years.
When the Reverend John Flynn conceptualised the Royal Flying Doctor Service in 1928, he dreamed of providing health care to people in rural and remote parts of Australia.
Today the RFDS is one of the largest aeromedical organisations in the world, providing extensive primary health care and 24-hour emergency service support. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology we deliver a broad range of primary health care services across Australia and our services are continuing to grow.
Our extensive experience makes us one of Australia’s most trusted patient transport providers.
